Pros

Casual dress. If you have a "hiccup" on your resume, you could probably use this place to pad it.

Cons

They talk about competitive compensation. I don't know where HR gets their information, but, as an example, service desk techs leave after 12 months and receive $2-6 an hour more at competitors! Advancement opportunities were extremely limited. The office environment was depressing - dirty, dingy, old. Events/holidays were handled like everyone is in junior high school. No one wants to be judged for how well they have decorated their cube for Halloween! "Spirit day, everyone!" - ugh, it's a joke. This company is completely out of touch with what other companies are doing to retain talent, ie: recognition for good performance (decent increases, on the spot bonuses, etc), advancement opportunities, and relaxed internet usage policies. Today's workforce text friends, update Facebook, and even write Glassdoor reviews!

Hello, Thank you for taking the time review our Company! I’m very sorry to hear that you only saw your position as resume-filler. We are currently updating our office environment with new paint, cleaning the carpets, and more pictures to make a more inviting environment. This year was when we started up the Activities Committee in Southfield and this was just to allow our employees the opportunity to mingle with other employees outside of their department for a few hours. Our activities help to boost team morale and give our employees a break from their typical work days, as well as the opportunity to win prizes! You also mentioned that other companies have relaxed internet policies. We choose not to have one since we are mainly help desks in our office and the internet usually interferes with helping our customers. At the end of the day, we are a business who serves many clients and customers, and need to be focused and ready to assist them at any time. We appreciate the advice you have given to management; however, I do believe some points need clarifying. We brought in an organizational development manager in the past year who has been working on succession planning and has recently begun implementing training in the past month. This training will continue throughout our management teams and various employees over the next two years. Organizational development and succession planning implementation is a timely process. While our Recruiting Director is no longer with the Company, it’s important to realize that the leaders we have here, have been here for several years, have had many different successes, and always encourage feedback. Thank you for your response, and best of luck to you in the future! Alison, HR

Pros

If you do a good job for a little over a year you can move into lots of great growth opportunities ServiceNow was very well configured for the scale it handled. I've since worked at places with SNOW that are much smaller scale environments and be less efficient. Depending on the desk you are assigned

Cons

It can very much be a slog depending what desk you're assigned. The shifts can go pretty late and they never pushed doing overnight to anyone that wasn't interested but having a 2-10 shift was rough on my social life and overall rhythm/mental health I was told to hold out until Dec/Jan on a shift change (asked for one in July) My training was pretty scattered. Sessions were pretty easily disrupted and kinda like a "oh and lets do this next, uh now that." That said in a support role you're gonna do most your learning with the training wheels off but a lot of on the fly learning for the SNHU project was staunch from how all the VMs, eBooks, courses, etc flowed. Another situationally dependent note but management was hard to get ahold of sometimes
