DON'T WORK HERE - Anonymous employee Steven Madden Employee Review

Working for Steve Madden is horrible, the work environment they portray is disgusting. Management asks you to do everything and pay you close to nothing...pocket change. They do not care about your well being or your health. This place is the definion of UNPROFESSIONAL, swearing at their employees, telling you how to dress, do your hair and makeup and demanding you to SELL,SELL,SELL or they will write you up, cut your hours and threatening to fire you. Steve Madden will make you work when you have a family emergency, sprained ankle, food poisoning etc. which is absolutely ridiculous. All this company cares about is money!! If you even say a word to your coworkers on the sales floor you will be yelled at and embarrassed right in-front of customers. Selling shoe care is a demand and if you can't make your numbers, get ready to be written up. Don't work here if you want to keep your sanity. As a customer absolutley everything you see is fake wait until you get hired and see what goes on in the background. You'll need tough skin to work here but just save yourself and don't.
