Pros

Upper management (Joe, Kathy, Pat) are great people and extremely fair to work for. Training exceeded expectations with selling tactics. This is a decent opportunity to get your foot in the door into sales, and about 90% of new hires are fresh out of college.

Cons

Turnover is VERY high as new hires have an extreme disadvantage. Senior reps will admit that the best way to make money is to wait for people to quit and then you acquire their accounts. If you can can tough out a hostile, unprofessional work environment with immature co-workers long enough (depending which branch you work in), you may reap these benefits. (If you report inappropriate behavior to HR, they WILL retaliate, so make sure you know a good lawyer if you’re seeking to report them as this is illegal). Every territory has the same quota, regardless if you have cowtown or a large city. It’s hard to gain new business at first in your territory if it was empty prior to your start date due to the fact that senior reps will have cherry picked the good accounts. You are NOT allowed to set appointments with net new business nor current accounts in your territory if senior reps are currently working on them. Even a year into working at Stewart, I was setting appointments with new businesses only to find out that the senior reps were currently quoting these companies and I was not allowed in there.

Thank you for recognizing our Senior Management and training process. We are very proud of how we can help new hires learn our industry and a sales approach that can launch their sales career. Some of your other feedback was surprising and disappointing. So we did some “fact-checking” just so review readers would get the right information. In 2016, 47% of our hiring was college grads with no sales experience. We’re happy to attract a diverse talent mix – college grads, those with a few years of b2b experience, and tenured sales pros. It makes for an environment that fosters mentoring, coaching, and professional growth. Turnover is painful so we make every effort to keep it low. In 2016, it was 26%. While we wish it was even lower, and will continue to work at it, we want readers to know that we take employee satisfaction quite seriously. We have steps in place for employees to voice any concerns without concern of retaliation. For any candidate that may be concerned about this, just ask us to show you our Handbook policy around this. When interviewing for your sales role, we invite you to openly discuss territory alignment and new business strategies with the hiring manager, the VP of Sales, and the President. The final step in the hiring process is our panel interview with all those parties available to ask as detailed a question as you’d like. Contrary to what was written, we do study the territories and have a process for enabling new reps to acquire existing accounts which we would be happy to share with you. We find that new sales reps who leverage our sales training from the onset have great success in establishing their account base. It comes down to commitment to the process and an ability to be consistent in your activity level – all of which you’ll learn in our sales training program. This job has incredible income opportunity, but you do have to earn it. Let’s talk so we can show you how it works! - Joe O'Malley, President

Pros

I have had the pleasure of working at Stewart for the past 11 years. Stewart is a growing organization that has tremendous opportunity for growth in NJ and PA more importantly. Our 75 technicians, Dedicated Help Desk, Local Dispatch, and Local Billing are some of the things that make life easy here as a sales rep. If you work hard it will ABSOLUTELY PAY OFF! Aside from the great commission checks from working hard I was also just awarded a TRIP TO THE BAHAMAS for 5 Days for coming in 2nd place for a contest that Stewart was running. They give you plenty of great technology, Ipads, laptops, smartphones, and other tools to get the job done in a professional manner. Our unique footing in the market place also makes sales easier. We truly are the "Best of Both Worlds", Local Service with a National Presence, and we can honestly say that there is not another model like us in the NJ PA areas.

Cons

Any service company is going to have its room for improvement. Dealing with service is never easy especially in our industry. Stewart tries their hardest to make it easy though by offering a plethora of great bonuses and unique programs for our service technicians and reps. I rated everything at 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. Stewart is growing every day and implementing new techniques and programs to guarantee our service and make us a Top Option for any Document Workflow Process.
