Pros
1. Great Work Life Balance 2. Great Back Office and Mid Western Cultural Roots 3. Trying to Compete like an upper Middle Market on total comp (bases at Assoc/VP below the Street) 4. Lean deal teams allow good MD-Execution Team work
Cons
1. Poor Sr Mgmt - operates like the "Articles of Confederation" with de-centralized power from each roll up and no control to enforce the agenda and conflicts 2. Commitment Committee is needlessly long due to the Chairman: older and close to retirement 3. old BoA Mgmt have created an arbitrary and capricious compensation system that "shaves off" and puts both aggressive cost savings and discretionary revenue (MDs earn 10-15% of gross revenue for example and they pay early March to typically go one notch below the Street) into their own pockets 4. Promotes a mediocre "C-team" culture of politics vs. revenue generation/strong deal teams 5. Overall choose to work for good people within your day to day teams but overall operations/compensation needs to be revamped from the top down
