Pros

- 40% employee discount - work from home

Cons

Where do I even begin… - 40% discount is off of overpriced merchandise. You can likely find these same exact items for less at other stores. - If you value and your work and like to help people, this is not the place for you. They want “quality Fixes” (*ahem* results) but give you no time to properly review clients’ profiles, let alone write a personalized note. - constant gaslighting and isolation. All communication is monitored so you can’t speak freely (if it’s anything other than gratitude and appreciation for SF) without retaliation. Stylists were driven to create an anonymous online thread in order to find community and support, if that tells you anything about the environment. - You’re required to use your own computer and your supervisors can see/track what you do at all times - You have to set your schedule in advance and then change it when the work hours are released (2 days before). This is when you find out how many hours you’ll be working for the week. If there are system issues, you’re expected to work around them by constantly checking to see if it works again. If you’re unable to work around them, you lose work hours and have lower performance. - no inventory to work with. Send the same styles from years ago when clients expect (for good reason) fresh styles. Not everyone wants the same top or pants in every color/print. - no growth within company - anxiety from not knowing if you’ll lose your job. Think you’re doing great? Think again. Your lead will find something you’re doing wrong, whether it’s not having enough variety in a Fix (regardless of the abysmal inventory) or having more than a few minutes pause between when you pulled Fixes. But even if you have a laid back lead, Stitch Fix could just force you out by taking away all flexibility and allowing you to “voluntarily quit,” to their benefit. If they can’t get you to voluntarily quit (say, you’re a lead with benefits and pay that are hard to walk away from), they’ll just have layoffs. - this company is failing in all aspects of the business, whether it’s “personalized” styling services or online shopping. If you’re looking for any kind of job security, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Pros

The people you actually work with are actually fantastic humans and brilliant engineers. They're eager to learn, collaborate, and help no matter what level they are or team they're on. You can make real friends here.

Cons

Unfortunately, the business just hasn't been as stable as it used to be. Leadership is always changing something and there isn't as much transparency about those decisions as there once was.

Pros

• I work with genuinely kind, supportive people who are always willing to jump in and help or give feedback to help me grow. • I've had the opportunity to partner with a variety of teams and build meaningful relationships across the business even from a remote setting. • Flexible work environment that allowed for a healthy work-life balance. • I've always felt trusted to manage my workload and bring new ideas to recruiting processes. • Mission-driven culture with employees who truly cared about helping clients feel confident in their personal style. • Great place to develop recruiting skills while working alongside talented and thoughtful teammates.

Cons

• Stakeholder alignment could take time when multiple teams were involved in hiring decisions. • I honestly don't have many cons to share. I can genuinely see myself working at Stitch Fix for many years to come. It's a company that truly values its people, and I'm proud to say I work here when people ask. The culture, mission, and people make it a place where I feel supported, challenged, and excited to contribute every day.
