Soulless upper management focused only on IPO - Anonymous employee StockX Employee Review

No growth opportunities. We've been hiring only senior engineers to try to push for an IPO, but no promotions from within and no hiring junior eengineers. Management tells us we get 40% of our time to spend on tech debt, then gives us constant tight deadlines for new features. Upper management doesn't care at all about employees; any employee issues are met with non-answers and hand waving. Weekly QA sessions where you get to hear the C-suite dodge answering any questions worth asking (but you get to hear about their favorite condiments instead!) It took months of constant questions from engineers and a large number of strong engineers quitting before management would even confirm how long we would be remote for at the start of pandemic (we got our answer in Oct 2020).
