- From the back end, everything about this company screamed cheap and that they would do anything they could to maximize profits rather than invest in their tutors and treat them like the educated professionals they are. To me this also indicated that they were not truly dedicated to their students' education and prioritize profits above all else
- Payment of $20/hr is less than half of what I earned at other agencies
- No compensation for prep time or travel. I was once asked to go far outside my tutoring zone for a student, which I said I would be willing to do if Studypoint paid for the Uber. They wouldn't do it. Like I said, cheap.
- All "training" is done online through some video modules, which I didn't even finish watching because I found them so worthless. There is no follow-up training or ongoing professional development
- You will literally never meet a single person in management at this company. It's all done online. If you have questions or need to trouble-shoot, you do it by posting in their private facebook group.
- I thought the teaching materials were poorly-written and ineffective. I felt badly having to use them to tutor students, since I knew there are much better materials out there that would have been way more helpful. Actually, I felt badly all around that parents were paying so much for such a cheap service.
