Worked alone with very little training - Anonymous employee Suburban Propane Employee Review

For the first 2 weeks I was there, I wasn't able to do any actual work. I wasn't able to log into the computer, and my boss was gone for much of that time. Most of the time, I was completely alone in the office. The majority of the phone calls were from the branch managers, so the phone barely rang when the boss was gone. Yet I was expected to be there from 8am-5pm to answer the phones. I was told by the only other employee in the office that the person who had the job before me was allowed to have calls forwarded to his cell phone. I was never allowed to do that. Even though I was a salaried employee, I was not allowed to come in early or leave late to make up time if I had to do something during work hours.
