Pros
At Suffolk, you’ll get to work with some of the brightest, hard-working, and technically capable employees in the construction business. You’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the largest most exciting projects being developed in the United States. With multiple options of offices to choose from you get to decide which area of the country best suits you. There’s no shortage to how high you want to take your career. Suffolk provides opportunities and advanced operations, executive management, business development, and even finance/venture capital. It’s a competitive environment, but there is absolutely no ceiling at this organization.
Cons
Unfortunately, just the general nature of large scale construction projects comes with tight deadlines, long hours often having to give up weekends, and commuting to job sites. Suffolk is definitely heavy on their SOP‘s as compared to other general contractors. However, I don’t see these as a negative but more as a positive as they provide a great structure for doing business. I know I could walk onto any project, and immediately begin supporting the team.
