Pros

Most employees are really good people and good to work with. Summit has a lot of potential, they have the most experienced employees, best service, and lowest costs in the industry.

Cons

Ownership started this company a few years back because they thought they could do a better job in the industry than their previous employers. The did succeed in doing that but are still very low on the totem pole with regard to market share. The owners, Ken & Jim, have zero experience running a company and it shows. They were in sales their entire careers and that is their expertise. Unfortunately they do not know how to treat their sales team. If you start a career there be sure you are a yes-man (or woman). If not you will be out of a job quickly. One thing you will notice is the turnover on the sales team. That's because they don't always pay promised incentives. If your quarterly incentive is $1k to $3k you will probably get paid, but if they owe you more than that, forget about it. Three straight years they failed to pay the sales team their "Promised" commissions. At the end of 2014 they declined not to pay out commissions because each rep was due a minimum of $20k/ea. The team hit the target yet management failed to pay up. The reasoning they decided not to pay had something to do with the value of the company. I still have this communication in writing. It had nothing to do with the job we did and the targets we hit. They simply came up with a reason not to pay us so they would not have to deal with their investors. Over the last three years, multiple reps have been given reasons that they would not be paid. I could go on and on and tell you about the excuses they came up with so they didn't have to pay up. The bottom line is, if you get into sales, good luck getting commission.
