Pros

The other staff were great to work with, aside from the owner.

Cons

Was promised an office, a raise after 3 months and benefits and never received them. I ended up leaving the company to move out of town for personal reasons and the owner asked if I could work remotely as a contractor to finish up some projects on the go. After several emails, text messages and 4 hours of work on those projects I thought it would be a good idea to send over a contract to the employer and have him sign off on agreed wages before I move forward with any more work. After having sent 3 emails asking about a contract and on the third time sending the actual document the owner not only neglected to acknowledge my requests for payment but completely disappeared. He still has not paid me for the work I have done. It is pretty scary that his clients are a man with their life savings, who doesn't even have the decency to pay his employees for work that HE requested they do for him.

Pros

Sun Life provides competitive benefits, remote work opportunities, and the chance to work alongside knowledgeable professionals. The company offers strong learning opportunities within the disability and leave management space.

Cons

Staffing reductions and increasing workloads have made it difficult for some teams to maintain service levels while preserving employee well-being. Leadership communication and support can vary by department.
