Pros

Different sub-divisions have different cultures. The focus of the organization changes between Geographies of growth i.e. international vs. domestic (Canada) as well as domestically it focusses more so to invest in the more smaller BU's which are making decent Turn over for SLF for e.g. Investments/Individual. The Group Business appear to be more of a stable businesses and are merely becoming a production facility which are expected to contribute substantially to meet financial deliverables The Group division where I work Finance/Actuarial seem to be a knowledge house and some of the very talented smart statisticians work in this area which allows enough opportunity to keep one mentally challenged enough Culture somewhat laid back albeit lots of Ad-Hoc work keeps coming down the pipeline as well

Cons

Lack of Work Life balance (limited work from home opportunities) Lack of a defined career progression HR not upto Par in offering any support whatsoever

Pros

Sun Life provides competitive benefits, remote work opportunities, and the chance to work alongside knowledgeable professionals. The company offers strong learning opportunities within the disability and leave management space.

Cons

Staffing reductions and increasing workloads have made it difficult for some teams to maintain service levels while preserving employee well-being. Leadership communication and support can vary by department.
