Pros
They have a couple of managers that are good guys and try their best to work with employees given their resources. A+ for them.
Cons
They offer low pay, unstable hours, and constantly nickel and dime employees. The nickle and diming is on another level. Training, including continued company education, is unpaid and just "part of the requirement" in order to keep your job. Admin and payroll are a mess. They constantly miss hours you worked, miscalculate hours, add deductions, etc. I have a recurring task on my calendar just to check my upcoming paycheck every week. I have actually run out of energy with the back and fourth every week with pay corrections, and took a bit of a loss on the last one just to avoid communicating with them. The level of "talent" that they are able to attract is sad. Picture SNL doing a skit on a security company. The only qualification that most officers have, to do any type of security work, is that they are not felons or crack heads. You really have to be down on your luck to keep working for Sunstates. The fact that the head of security for the client I work for is a very nice guy is the only reason I am still here. However, with the latest round of payroll errors and nickel and diming, I have started to look for an alternative side income.
