Pros

Changing jobs and going to Supportive Care has been one of the smartest choices I have made in my career. It's flexible, you basically make your own schedule- as long as your patients are seen, you're good! It has allowed me to be more involved as a Mom- I take my child to school every morning and I pick her up. If something comes up- I do let them know, but you don't have to worry about getting permission, canceling appointments, etc. I no longer spend 16 hours on the weekend catching up documentation. It's a very simple, straightforward system. The pay is more than I ever thought I would make in my chosen career.

Cons

You have to be self managed and organized. Although you don't "have a schedule" you have to understand that the work you do is what you get out of it- no more, and no less. Time management is a must- the faster paced you are- the better the reimbursement. Working with the geriatric population comes with its challenges- but at the end of everyday- it is also rewarding.
