Pros

-a culture that celebrated employees, curiosity and teamwork -pay is solid -benefits are very good but slowly getting chipped each year -some absolutely fantastic managers and team members to work with -great mat/pat leave if you're in canada/europe

Cons

-the most milquetoast leadership team I've ever worked for. Quietly changes top level metrics when they are going the wrong direction, will overwhelm you with corporate talk that means nothing. When R TO was announced the CEO left 0 room for responses and questions and immediately hid away. I have no confidence in this company moving in a positive direction. -We've reached the point of yearly if not quarterly layoffs. Sales teams are completely overturned all the time. Impossible to recommend friends to work here when your other necessary coworker is laid off to be offshored somewhere cheaper. -the current SVP of communications has "accidently" called repeated concerns at a town hall Q&A "annoying". Maybe they are recurring because they never get addressed. HR is not on your side. We don't want a broken heart emoji, we want accountability and action. -inability to take ownership or push urgency has caused actual well performing departments to get punished for the poor performance of others, causing what remaining high performers to leave -since being acquired the company value has only stayed flat buoyed by layoffs and selling property, the CFO left for a reason -all non core products have been sunset or waffled back and forth on. There is no cross sell opportunity and everyone is confused on the product strategy -Marketing has taken all unique things about Surveymonkey and watered it down to the most boring corporate language

Pros

The company culture at SurveyMonkey is really special. Curiosity and risk-taking is encouraged, and people are free to be their authentic selves at work. If there are faults, it's that we are too nice and collaborate too much that it sometimes slows down decisions. People are genuinely passionate about building, marketing, and servicing a great product & experience for our customers. Upward mobility is real for those who work towards it - SurveyMonkey likes to promote from within, and I've been able to grow my own career from IC into a leadership position here. Benefits are great too. I've had 2 babies while working here and felt fortunate to have the 16 week parental leave and $20k towards fertility/doula services. Flexible hybrid remote/in-office. Favors pacific time zone.

Cons

The PE-owned chapter at the company has been one of consolidation and cost-cutting. It forces focus, but has meant we've had to say goodbye to a lot of talented teammates.
