      Pros

      Working with the students is amazing. The teachers are great too. I love Sylvan for everything but the Administrative team I worked under.

      Cons

      Franchise owners are sometimes worse than corporate alternatives. Toxic work environment where everyone has to watch their back and we all know we are one mistake away from getting fired. Not a single honest person lasts as they either quit, get fired for being too honest, or work there long enough to become a liar. Also massive workloads that are impossible to complete in 40 hours. Overtime is expected but you will never get compensated for it.

      Pros

      I enjoyed the work I did do. Working with the children and helping with teachers was fun and I got to socialize quite often with staff and students.

      Cons

      I was fired for missing one shift because my mother ended up in an accident. I did not get to explain myself for missing said shift and was told to think about my actions for 4 days before being let go. Extremely unprofessional.
