Pros

I had a wonderful experience working at Sylvan in Novi. My co-workers were generally friendly and helpful. Management was amazing. I've never had another manager who put together a white elephant holiday party and brought homemade cupcakes for every employee's birthday.

Cons

We had one teacher who was friendly at first, but became progressively nastier as time went on. No one was sad when she ultimately left. The only other downside was the lack of advancement opportunity.

Pros

I enjoyed the work I did do. Working with the children and helping with teachers was fun and I got to socialize quite often with staff and students.

Cons

I was fired for missing one shift because my mother ended up in an accident. I did not get to explain myself for missing said shift and was told to think about my actions for 4 days before being let go. Extremely unprofessional.
