Pros
People at Syngenta are talented and fantastic!
Cons
- Syngenta is a company that talks A LOT about everything. However, they do not follow through on any of the talk. - TERRIBLE HIRING PRACTICES! Syngenta consistently violates its own Inclusive Recruiting and Hiring training as provided on LearningEdge. Additionally, the hiring process is slow and unintuitive - both internally and externally. No care given to candidate experience. Little internal mobility. - Syngenta fears change and cannot commit to decisions without the glacially slow process of decision by committee (a.k.a. Basel). GLT is far removed from the true needs and conditions of the employees. They don't care, but their egos are horrendous. - Support Functions are given very little value due to not being "customer facing". It's a sad day when a HRBP for an entire function and several organizations makes less than a sales representative. - No training provided to managers on how to be managers. Lots of "tips and tricks," but the reality is that folks here are unprepared to manage people. A hardworking IC gets promoted to line manager without any foundational support. - No internal competency training and very little company pride. - Bottom line - Syngenta doesn't actually care about its people.
