Pros
Benefits are excellent. Retail Pay can be good for somebody without a college education. Some store managers are cool but all upper management and execs are clueless.
Cons
In store management is low level for retail because the district managers are constantly pressuring them which directly effects in store morale and attitude. You can only move up if you have the fake raw-raw attitude which definitely gets old really fast. I was an in store small business rep and went to winners circle (for top .5% of all sales people) 2 times and I tried to move up for over 2 years into a corporate sales position but was never taken seriously. They would always end up saying that funding was not available so they would be hiring at a later time, never happened. Sometimes you will get lucky with a cool store manager but it won't last long because they are always shifting them around within the market from store to store. Work weekends and every holiday is expected and time off is rare.
