Low merit increases decrease motiviation - if you do the bare minimum you will get 1% raise annually, if you work really hard you will get 3%. That is not a lot of incentive to work hard if you only get 2% more than the person phoning it in. - Small pay increases with each promotion, but the jump from Sr. Manager to Director is double the pay, I wish tmobile would spread the wealth and give significant, 20% pay increases for promotions as opposed to the 5% increase most see from level to level.
