We know career growth is vital for you. It’s also important for TCG to see you grow and develop in areas that interest you. That is why we have our annual Career Reviews - for TCGers to work with their managers and the Employee Happiness team to put a plan in place that will help you pursue your career goals.
You’re absolutely right that it’s not always clear how to advance and get promoted. We’re actively working on that and our first step is the new Compensation system that we’re rolling out right now (mid-September 2021). We have high hopes for it but like everything else we do for the first time, it’s an experiment. If it fails we will do something else.
If you have suggestions on times when our accountability hasn’t been up to your standards, please let your manager, an exec, HR, or Happiness know. Or put it explicitly (name names!) in one of our twice-annual employee surveys. The reality is that once a business hires its first employee, nobody will ever again know all the things that organization is doing. Sometimes we miss an opportunity for improvement unless someone points it out.
