Thank you for the excellent review! We really appreciate you - your list of “pros” is exactly what we want to see. You’re absolutely right - we don’t allow work to be performed all states. Unfortunately some states are very difficult to have as a partner. For example, some states levy a fine against companies that require their employees to get vaccinated. Others have policies contrary to our insurance (or to our beliefs!). Still others have rules that are impossible for us to meet given our work (for instance, mandating that people get paid for their work within a few days of the end of the pay period - that’s impossible for us because of the way we implement government timesheet requirements). This makes employing people in those states very complicated, given the way we want to employ people, our clients’ requirements, and our company culture. So while we can have employees in lots of states, we cannot have employees in every state.
(Large companies are able to do this because they have subsidiaries in some states to handle the complexities and keep them distinct from the main company. Small companies are able to do it because they have outsourced their entire HR function or they ignore the rules, working under the assumption that they will figure it out if needed. Medium companies, like ours, who want to follow all applicable laws, have difficulty.)
All that said, we’re regularly adding new states to our “permitted” list. Stay tuned!
And thanks for the review!
