Not a bad place to work, depending on what department you're in. - Copywriter TDS Telecommunications Employee Review

Pros

TDS offers a good balance between work and personal life by providing a fairly generous paid time off schedule. Also, the benefits package is generous and provides good opportunities for retirement savings (pension, 401 (k) and stock purchase plan).

Cons

Tunnel vision by upper management, who are overly concerned with forcing square pegs into round holes. This "one size fits all" style of management hinders creativity, autonomy and initiative. A failure to acknowledge criticism of this style of management only aggravates the problem.

Pros

Competitive pay and an outstanding benefits package, including health insurance, a 401(k)-company match, tuition reimbursement, and generous paid holidays and sick leave.

Cons

Recent layoffs had a major impact on the Field Marketing department, leading to reduced resources and higher workloads.

Cons

- Starting pay may be a little low for some people - Miscommunications about what departments handle what issues - Call center with varying amounts of calls per day (not necessarily a con) - Metrics for calls may be stressful for some
