Pros

You may get a cool Christmas gift if you are lucky and they remember you are making money for them.

Cons

They forgot I existed for 3 years, then tried to make it up by taking me out for wings once a month. (Too little, too late and too much alcohol for the Recruiter) I would much rather have had them just slide me over the $100 they paid for the recruiters to sit there in front of me and get drunk once a month. Oh and somehow every recruiter felt that it was ok to drive home after drinking 2-3 double whiskeys. They lie, they tell you over and over how they don't get paid that much for you, but in comparison to other contracting companies they always short change their workers, and if it wasn't for us they would not exist. Example: The company I was contracted to was paying the exact same rate for my co-worker and I, for the sake of anonymity lets pretend it was $45 hr, that is how much the company paid the contracting companies for us. My co-worker who was through a different contracting company took home $30 an hour and had 2 weeks paid vacation and paid holidays. I took home $28.00 hr from TekSystems with no paid vacation or paid holidays for 9 years. But TekSystems would tell me they were loosing money on me. How is that even possible? No paid vacation, unless they also take that money out of your check. I could go on but the memories of this company cause me to have panic attacks so I have to end.

Pros

Good opportunity to learn on the job. Able to meet with people in the industry both with TEKsystems and Microsoft. Good hands on experience with an AI data center

Cons

Sever lack of work 80% of days. Contract position got let go 3 months ahead of earliest anticipated date. Low overall responsibility within role (most contractors could only work basic tickets. Anything requiring more troubleshooting was reserved for full time employees). TEKsystems management was far removed from what was actually happening day to day onsite. Was led to believe that there would plenty of contract to hire positions when there were only a handful and were already taken.
