Pros

Fast paced, so time moves quickly. Associate discount is 10% off. Flexible with scheduling. Easy to get time off (need to request 3 weeks in advance). They have a fitting room associate organize the recovery.

Cons

If you don’t ask for TJX rewards card they write you down in a negative way. Also, you don’t get any commission in return for trying to get a rewards card. You don’t get commission for trying to sell anything there, so don’t try. They expect on the floor associates to finish putting a tremendous amount of clothes away while backing up registers, covering breaks, and helping every costumer 10 feet away from you. The management is disorganized. If you work there from years on end you can become a manager with no education requirement. There is no gain from this business, for example, if you decided to become a coordinator you get a $1 raise and that’s it. My raise for the past 3 years has been a 27 cent raise, so basically don’t expect a raise because minimum wage will eventually exceed that amount.

Pros

Good pay and flexible hours

Cons

The workplace culture felt highly driven by informalities, which often made it difficult to resolve issues professionally. Management responses to workplace concerns often felt inconsistent, and similar incidents appeared to be handled differently depending on the individuals involved. Employee morale appeared low, and turnover seemed higher than expected during my time there. Lack of support during peak periods and backroom inefficiencies. The work environment felt unsustainable due to unresolved management issues, communication breakdowns, and inconsistent handling of workplace conflicts.
