Pros
Possibly a good place to learn for early stage professionals. Talented employees with a lot of expertise and the potential to take on responsibilities. Junior staff eager to contribute to BD goals and state/participate in new initiatives. Flexibility in work schedules and possible to maintain work-life balance.
Cons
Challenging place for mid level professionals. Energy practice is a combination of multiple small business acquisitions. Senior management still has small business mentality and do not know how to function in their AVP, VP or higher roles. There is no vision, no strategy, no clear direction from management about where the practice should be headed. The team does the best their can given the complete lack of direction. When things go wrong, senior management takes no responsibility and is never held accountable. Poor financial management of projects- could be recipe for disaster in new private equity ownership. Operational hard to break silos. Lack of collaborative and cooperative culture. Not positioned well to cater to the needs of the industry which is going through rapid transitions. For example, C-suite pushing fossil fuel based work- when the whole industry is moving away from that.
