Pros

Lots of free food There is a great office culture, but mostly for newer employees. The company has a great base of talent from years ago when perspective candidates were well vetted. The product is doing well and has great long term viability. The CEO is passionate about the business and industry

Cons

There is zero female presence in the higher ranks, and the few females who move up do it by knowing their role. The company has grown very quickly, and to meet the needs, the quality of new talent has dropped severely. Good talent is leaving and being replaced by friends of friends and people who come in late, play ping pong all day or goof off on FB, and then leave early. HR is unhelpful and you will get blackballed for voicing your concerns. The idea is that Taboola is the "Google of Israel" and you should feel lucky to be part of the company. There is rampant favoritism. If you want to get a new position in the company, you need to fight and scratch, but if you're Israeli, you just ask for it, and you'll get it. Company refuses to IPO and openly mocks the question every time it's asked. Zero diversity above the entry level positions. Three years ago, this company was worthwhile, but at this point if you're a hard, passionate worker looking to do something amazing, go elsewhere.

Thanks for taking the time to write this review and I’m happy to hear that you appreciate the culture we work hard to cultivate and our passion about the Taboola product, business and industry. In regards to your comment on gender equality, we just hired our 7th female Country Manager and we are proud of our female VPs. We’re continuously working to improve gender equality in the company and have several programs for gender equality and empowerment in the works. Your feedback regarding the quality of our new hires is highly valuable and we take this seriously to help improve our hiring processes. We hope you shared this feedback when you were still with the company - with your managers in the quarterly feedback touchpoints and with your HR representative. It’s true that part of our culture is the ability to speak up and take ownership above and beyond your role, and this is something that we take into consideration when looking at internal mobility and career growth of our employees. We realize that there is a gap in communicating these internal success stories to our employees and are working to improve this so that our employees all over the globe are aware of the many career growth opportunities and the many success stories of Taboolars who have been promoted from APAC, EMEA, US and LATAM. Finally, the question of an IPO is one that remains to be decided by Management in the future and depends on many considerations. As you know, from attending the quarterly updates when you were with the company, as well as the annual SKO, both Adam our CEO and Eldad our COO are asked this question continuously and do their best to respond seriously and to the point. We wish you the best of luck in your next role.

Pros

1. Generous benefits, pay is not too bad for someone new to the industry. 2. beautiful working space full of food, snacks, drinks, etc 3. Basically, the corporate want to make sure you are comfortable at work and have all the required gadgets 4. CEO is ambitious, highly involved, and actively seeking out new directions for the company instead of sitting on the native market they already dominated

Cons

1. Your personal experiences are highly related to the team you are on. 2. Some managers, who I am not sure if this is a culture or langauge issues, often sound condescending. Whenever you ask questions, instead of providing instruction, they will use rhetorical questions and leave you even more confused. Some like to blow things out of proportion when they disagree with your work. 3. Sending work messages 24/7 for nonurgent issues every day, even if you say 'not expecting you to reply,' is still pressure, especially coming from your direct manager. 4. The company pays hella amount of attention to their online reviews. They have people rolling out a food cart to encourage people leave comments/reviews online. I see this as both good and bad. Good because the employer does care about employee feedback, at least seemingly. Bad because you only need to PR this hard when things are not doing good. 5. Mandatory days at the office are Mon, Tues, and Thursday instead of letting you choose the days. Make you feel like a kindergarten kid when you have such limited freedom for your own schedule. 6. Toxic behaviors are tolerated
