Pros
Taboola is truly filled with some incredible people. There are certain members of the team that move the company forward and exhibit a passion and dedication that is inspiring. Taboola is filled with highly intelligent, very competent people. They care about their employees in a way that is genuine, and doesn't show a phony HR hidden-agenda. The technology is at the cutting edge of a budding industry in adtech, and they have been strategically dominating it. The massive growth is extremely exciting, and seeing the CEO interviewed on Bloomberg, Fox etc. every few months due to massive wins definitely keeps the momentum up. It feels like being a part of something bigger. Taboola is an inspiring place to work.
Cons
During Taboola's massive growth, the hiring criteria seems to have decreased. Pre-explosion, the team was stellar, highly impressive, and extremely dedicated. In times of need, they have settled for decent people who often do the minimum and head home. A "bro" culture is starting to emerge, making harder working employees resentful as they play ping-pong and talk sports most of the day. The person who runs my division has vividly gotten very comfortable as they have been there a while, to the point where most employees question their competency. Respecting leadership should not be undervalued.
