Pros

The products are great. They are really ground breaking.

Cons

-Talkdesk does not want sales people to succeed: It really does not matter what type of success you have at Talkdesk, you will be looked down upon and eventually fired. Not many people even sniff quota. Even those that have come as close to 80% to quota in Q2 get fired before they can even get the opportunity to hit quota in the rest of the year. Let that sink in. I saw it happen to 3 people as I worked at Talkdesk for over a year. -Politics: New management is all a frat boy club. They talk negatively to the people that are not in their inner circle, that do not act like them, and those that do not look like them. Senior leadership will tell you on each call that if a huge deal does not close within the month, you will lose your job. If the management frat club likes you, you can not sell anything and have job security. If management does not like you, your quota attainment does not matter and you will be fired. Also, there is no gender or racial diversity, so they want everyone to look and think the same. Take a look through LinkedIn and see that you can count the number of women and minorities on 2 hands -Sales people churn: Talkdesk wants to fire and rehire for any reason that they can find. The average tenure is less than a year. Talkdesk is not a meritocracy. If you achieve quotas, and you still get fired. Every sales person is on edge because they have seen it happen multiple times to reps. Your opinions are not wanted or valued, so do not ask any questions during meetings, or you will be put on the naughty list. -No sales tools to succeed in your role: Talkdesk does not provide enterprise sales reps with valuable sales tools such as LinkedIn sales navigator, Zoominfo, etc. They expect you to open the yellow pages and call everyone in the organization, all day everyday. That's not an enterprise sales strategy. That's selling insurance. Talkdesk is a place for accomplished sales people to go and be miserable. Your opinion will not matter, your work will not matter, your accomplishments will not matter. The goal of management is to replace you once you have laid a foundation. Look at the Glassdoor reviews of any competitor and you will see that you will be better situated for success there or anywhere else. Any potential candidate to Talkdesk that is reading this should also note that the Talkdesk team has not responded to any negative review on Glassdoor. They know these views are true. Also note that most positive reviews have come in August 2020 when they sent a request to employees (mostly non sales people) to write reviews to help mask how horrible the place is. Run away from this place and take a job somewhere else.

Pros

-The AI-First Mission is Real- We aren’t just talking about artificial intelligence; we are actively executing an AI-first transformation across our entire product and internal operating models. It’s an incredibly exciting, fast-paced space for anyone looking to build the future of enterprise software. -What makes this company truly special is our foundation: we have a deep, proven contact center history, but we’ve successfully paired that legacy with the right product architecture and the right people to dominate the AI future. It feels like today we have the right people on board to execute. - Innovative mindset- We don't have everything figured out today. Employees are encouraged to think outside of the box and move fast to try new things and surface solutions.

Cons

-High-Pressure, Agile Environment: Because we scale on consumption and automation rather than simple headcount, the bar for talent density here is exceptionally high. Things move FAST. If you prefer a slow, highly structured, or static environment, this level of rapid iteration might feel overwhelming - TD doesn't have everything figured out. You have to be OK building as you go, and not always having clear direction.
