It's a mission-driven, privately-owned start-up at the forefront of a new FinTech industry. - Anonymous employee Tapcheck Employee Review

Pros

There are a lot of FinTech start-ups you can join and a lot that are changing the industry as a whole. There’s even quite a few that are privately owner-operated. However, I’d challenge you to find many that are all of those and are actually serving a greater purpose. You’ll see companies with strong values or volunteer programs, but their product or service is ultimately self-serving. At Tapcheck, the purpose of the product is to help people. You help employees get access to their paycheck early, so they don’t get stuck doing payday loans. It feels like my work is serving a bigger purpose, and I like that the company and my coworkers share the same vision.

Cons

Nothing that doesn't come with a fast-paced startup. There is a lot to do, and if you are looking for a roll your sleeves up environment with lots of opportunity to act like an owner and make an impact, this is it.

Pros

TapCheck provided a balance with its hybrid structure and a well-designed modern office space.

Cons

The management style was a challenge. The constant check in’s when you go to lunch when you get in the morning & when you leave for the day. EVERY single DAY in the teams chat. I shouldn't have to do that if im already clocking in. Expectation for training was quite aggressive, especially with how many systems they use. I felt under pressure when my progress didn’t meet those expectations. Additionally, the training process was still developing, which is understandable given the company is a startup. Furthermore, the orientation was somewhat excessive, camera had to be on at all times during orientation. Also during the training which made it hard to focus. Overstimulating in other words. My manager was nice at first but as days went on her mask started to slip and there were times she was a bit passive aggressive with training.
