Pros

They have lots of great co-workers. Most non-exempt team members work together to solve things fast and efficiently across groups and departments. Lots of same level support. When in an all exempt setting it is great for problem solving and working together. It is very rare to have an idea stolen or credit given to another executive.

Cons

Most first and second tier leadership are hired directly from colleges and do not have much practical busines sense and little to no knowledge of what the people they supervise and rewiew do. There is little reason or motivation to learn what your team does in detail and to get to know your team. This leads to many reviews and promotion reccomendations being completely due to non-business reasons. Directly in correlation to this many times being perky will keep someone who is not good at their position in their position. On the flip side of that coin many good workers who work hard and are good at their job but are not overly perky have been let go. There is a definate sense of first and second class employee's based on non-exempt or exempt status at HQ locations.
