Pros

Great CIO, Bob Witte really knows IT. Technology used is solid and they follow best practices. The work life balance was solid they allowed for remote work when needed. The pay was above average for the region. They also provided good benefits and charges varied based on income, if you got paid more then you paid more in, if you were lower paid then you pay less for your benefits, over all it was a fair deal for both. They do try to keep it like a family.

Cons

Hit hard by the housing crash, had to lay off some great IT resources. The Directors that reported to the CIO played a lot of politics and some were even cut throat. The best way to move up was to stay under the radar and work on special projects that had multiple directors getting credit for the success.

Pros

Good benefits and decent pay

Cons

Advancing via merit system does not exist, low metric superintendents are awarded CSC to train. Management preaches accountability but does not practice it while, passing all the bad decisions down to their team members to take accountability for their actions and decisions. There is no team mentality in Charlotte anymore. The culture has been turned in to a game of cutthroat in which every teammate is trying to make another look bad in order to hide their mistakes. It was a great place to be when I started but it has turned sour in the worst way causing the division to lose all if their top talent at the CSM, CM, and CWM positions. Everyone feels this way and are too afraid to say it due to fear of being targeted
