Pros

They do an incredible job of recruiting. The recruiters are extremely nice, will promise you the world. You should be leery right there- because things that sound too good to be true often are.

Cons

Here is how Team Health, like many large physician staffing companies, operate. It unfortunately took me a few years to figure this out. When I graduated medical school, I was young and very naive. Here is how Team Health operates. Say there is a hospital that wants to fill 10 positions. Team Health will lock down 50 + doctors for those 10 Positions by offering them an actual contract and in some cases, will even pay them a stipend or sign-on bonus. Those physicians will, obviously, assume that they have the job and move to the respective location. They’ll leave their friends, family, and put down 2 months rent on an apartment there. So Team Health gives the hospital 50 physicians to choose from to fill 10 spots. What the hospital doesn’t know is that Team Health actually offered contracts to those 50 physicians, who all think they have secured positions there. So the hospital thinks this is great and gets to choose the top 10 from that pool of 50. And when they do- 40 of those physicians who signed contracts, made their move to a new state, acquired a license etc. in that state- will be told that the job offer fell through. Team Health will make up a reason, and they’re covered by their contract, which states something like employment can be terminated at any time for any reason. It leaves those 40 physicians that the hospital did not pick in a horrible situation. They have their hopes shattered, spent thousands of dollars, and moved to a location where there is no longer a job waiting for them. It’s just plain wrong. Fraud. It’s fraud.

Whether it’s through formal programs or on-the-job learning, there’s a clear commitment to helping employees advance their careers. The company does a great job recognizing contributions and fostering a sense of belonging across teams. Pros: Supportive and engaged leadership Collaborative, team-oriented culture Opportunities for career growth and development Meaningful work that impacts patient care

Pros

WFH and work life balance, occasional slow moments that help with the huge workload

Cons

Not a livable wage, preaches about their amazing profits but won’t raise the pay, upper mgmt constantly adds more work to the load and makes the day to day almost impossible to complete. Extra projects are a constant. Can’t get the systems to work together. Doesn’t do any primary source verification, any background check or drug screen for clinicians. We don’t know who we’re hiring. Nor do we care as long as we’re making money,
