Poor staffing ratios - Er Physician TeamHealth Employee Review

I’ve had a very positive experience working at TeamHealth. The organization truly prioritizes both its patients and its employees, which creates a strong sense of purpose in the work we do every day. Like many growing organizations, processes can evolve quickly, which requires adaptability

Staffed the ER’s at Advent, which is a massive hospital with lots of resources and support. Hourly pay was competitive (little/no bonus pay though - not on par with other local companies).

Too much cutting or changing APC hours and shifts last minute based on “predicted volume” - which is a staffing model that never works! Budget cuts shouldn’t come from safe staffing. APCs keep departments running! Stop taking that for granted and keep scheduling consistent. They also don’t seem to care about losing good APC’s. They’ll just hire new grads to replace you. Too many arbitrary rules on physician oversight/practice guidelines without clear parameters. Every campus uses their APCs differently, which is confusing.
