Pros

I get to work with a great group of colleagues. Free CME opportunities. Good company to work for other than pay/compensation is below average.

Cons

Pay is on the lower range, no raises have been given in years. No opportunity for productivity bonuses, RVU etc for APCs. No night shift or weekend differential. Employee retention is low, with increasing turnover and burn out. Losing lots of good experienced providers due to decreased provider coverage with increased work loads, stress with no compensation.

Pros

I’ve had a very positive experience working at TeamHealth. The organization truly prioritizes both its patients and its employees, which creates a strong sense of purpose in the work we do every day. One of the standout aspects is the collaborative and supportive culture. Leadership is approachable, communicative, and invested in helping teams succeed. There’s a genuine focus on continuous improvement, and employees are encouraged to share ideas and be part of driving change. TeamHealth also offers strong opportunities for growth and development. Whether it’s through formal programs or on-the-job learning, there’s a clear commitment to helping employees advance their careers. The company does a great job recognizing contributions and fostering a sense of belonging across teams. Pros: Supportive and engaged leadership Collaborative, team-oriented culture Opportunities for career growth and development Meaningful work that impacts patient care

Cons

Like many growing organizations, processes can evolve quickly, which requires adaptability

Pros

Staffed the ER’s at Advent, which is a massive hospital with lots of resources and support. Hourly pay was competitive (little/no bonus pay though - not on par with other local companies).

Cons

Too much cutting or changing APC hours and shifts last minute based on “predicted volume” - which is a staffing model that never works! Budget cuts shouldn’t come from safe staffing. APCs keep departments running! Stop taking that for granted and keep scheduling consistent. They also don’t seem to care about losing good APC’s. They’ll just hire new grads to replace you. Too many arbitrary rules on physician oversight/practice guidelines without clear parameters. Every campus uses their APCs differently, which is confusing.
