Pros

none that i can think of - there an many companies with same benefits and “perks” that will do better by you than this company

Cons

Company values are used basically for the uplifting of company moral and are not actually enforced at all. The company rolled out “guiding behaviors” and did absolutely nothing to implement them properly meanwhile racism and discrimination happens freely at every level of office life beginning with group managers and moving upward into department managers. Racism and discriminative culture exists very obviously at Terracon which is primarily white staffed. BIPOC employees have been gas lighted when an issue is brought to the attention of a manager and they refuse to promote anti-racism in the offices. Terracon does not hire BIPOC unless it is to their advantage, you can expect to work in an all or almost all white office. Additionally the pressure of having to work long and extra non paid hours (certain metrics need met before overtime) and on the weekends in order to get decent raises and bonuses. Salary will plateau as well as your professional growth. Expect absolute indifference from your direct supervisors when it comes to your mental health and your personal life, managers do not care for employees they are merely employees performing tasks that generate the company revenue. This company claims to be safety and value centered yet they lack the basic principles of addressing the safety and value of their BIPOC employees. Do not expect inclusion and diversity from this company. Do not expect this company to be productive for your life long term but you can expect anxiety and depression from the lack of attention and resources available to address the mental health trauma that this company will cause you.

Pros

You have sustainable hours for construction but there is mandatory overtime (The most I’ve done is 51 hours in a week), they pay you enough to live on, it’s good experience, upper management pays lip service to workers rights, there is genuine concern and regulation from management to provide you an emotionally and physically safe place to work, you’re never really rushed to do your job, and you do have the right to stop work

Cons

You need a degree in engineering or geology to move up and you have to threaten to move offices or take another job to get a pay raise. It’s not unionized.
