Co-workers, public service, most benefits, current focus on employee happiness. Like most government jobs there are good years and not so good years. You must go with the flow.

Cons

Benefits were better in years past. Upper and mid management has had issues. Lots of paperwork.

People are awesome, some of the best you’ll ever work with. People are truly passionate about water and leadership is good. Remote work was the best of both worlds.

Cons

Salary is definitely lower than in consulting. Remote work is no longer a pro since 2025. So sad.
