Pros

- Most of the people are really outgoing, cool, fun people - If you're a sales-y, pushy person, this is perfect for you! You'll do well here - Room for growth - Opportunity to make decent money - Great "team" environment (people work together to help you!)

Cons

- Sometimes, I felt wrong being SO pushy (as management wants you to be, and will call you out if you're not), especially when it was clear certain guests didn't have lots of money to spend. Buckle's management excuse was always: "We're just showing them ALL our options.. it's not fair for us to hide something that they could like", when in reality- they just want to achieve higher sales and don't care what they need to do to do it - Commission based, and sometimes other team-members will sneakily take your sale - Corporate was ALWAYS calling the store and just being up everyone's butt about everything - Can be predominantly run by women, which can cause drama to be talked about at work

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
