Pros

Loved the coworkers, great upbeat atmosphere, retail discount and good possibility to move up with the company.......if you can hit numbers.

Cons

They have a very pushy sales system. I have worked in a lot of different retail positions and I get it the goal is to sell sell sell. At Buckle if someone just comes in wanting a t-shirt they have you pick out about ten others and send them in the dressing room, while they are in the dressing room you are supposed to grab multiple pairs of jeans and throw them over the top and then go in the back and grab multiple pairs of shoes and slide them under the door. If you don't do this every time you are reprimanded and I have seen customers walk out because they felt they were overwhelmed and this was by management not just the average sales associate. My advice if you don't feel like shoving multiple items down a customers throat to the point you are both uncomfortable then don't apply here.

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
