Pros

Great Discount! Great leaders at the Corporate Office!

Cons

Company in the field is nothing like the Amazing Leaders at the Corporate level. Too many upper field management need to retire, because if you are not part of the Good Ole Boys or Girls club you are disrespected and treated like crap. HR is terrible, they work for the District/Regional managers and against the employee's, they are very one sided and very unfair. Pay is probably the lowest in the field of retail. Very unprofessional field leaders, if they like you they hang out with you and drink and have fun, if they don't like you they make your life miserable. Product used to be good quality but has become very low quality, and they don't stay current with the trends. Most frustrating retail company I have ever worked for. Highest turnover I've ever seen, at least 10-20 store openings a month, WOW that should tell you something!

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
