Pros

Co-workers are fun to work with. It's a young energetic atmosphere The management at my store was very good (changes on a store-to-store basis) You get a 40% discount for you and your family even if you are a part time employee! (family only includes your spouse and children but is really nice for a mom who only works part time)

Cons

Pay directly linked to sales can result in inconsistent pay due to lack of business, low sales numbers, etc. Your sales are everything to the company and if you slip up they will let you know. Advancement in the company is only possible if you are at a "training store" so if you don't live close to a training store then you might have to relocate just for a chance to advance.

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
