Pros

Good verbiage training. Cool clothes

Cons

Overwhelming toxic positivity. High pressure sales tactics Forcing happiness from teammates. Brain washing teammates into thinking they’re doing the right thing by telling them to shove product down the throats of customers. High usage in plastic packaging. Little to no work life balance Sexism from district managers down to area managers and between store managers. Politics and cliques form during manager meeting. They’re write up program “commitment to success” is just their way of giving you 3 chances to quit so they don’t have to fire you because then you’ll claim unemployment from them. This company will convince you to join their cult and manipulate you until you conform to they’re ways, employees would joke about being turned into a “buckle bot”. Be aware of this. It’s hard to break from because of the toxic positivity. If you work here, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

Pros

-Good work-life balance. -Team-building is encouraged. -The experience can vary by location. -Buckle has the potential to have some of the best retail teams, depending on the store. -There are opportunities for growth and career advancement for employees who have supportive leadership.

Cons

Management's willingness to lead, communicate effectively, and support employees is what creates opportunities for growth, but that was not my experience at this location. I felt the work environment was negatively affected by inconsistent communication, a leadership style that felt overly controlling, and discussions about employees that appeared to undermine teamwork and trust. I believe a more respectful, supportive, and collaborative approach to leadership would create a healthier workplace culture and better support both employees and the overall success of the store.
