8yThank you for your review. I'd like to take the opportunity to address some of the issues you raised. On the matter of bonus/commission, we have always referred to supplemental income (income not part of base pay), as 'bonus', if the associate is in a non-sales role. The bonus guidelines are straightforward and provided to all bonus-eligible associates.
The company manages using the Situational Leadership model, which provides a leadership match for each developmental level an associate may be on for a goal or task. Associates who are still learning a goal or task may be provided with more direction than associates who are not learning. We train all of our frontline leaders not to 'micro-manage'.
We had over 40 promotions in 2017 and do not hand then take back promotions to give to other associates.
We received feedback on improving communication in our 2016 associate engagement survey and have made a lot of progress in this area, including - creating a monthly newsletter for leaders, creating a bi-monthly newsletter for all associates, sending regular corporate communication on major activities occurring in the organization, holding an annual Steering Committee roadshow, where members of the Steering Committee meet with all associates to provide an update on the company and answer questions. We are working on more ways to communicate and connect with all associates.
