Dear Anonymous Employee,
Thank you very much for your candor and courage to make this post! I am extremely concerned about the issues you have raised and apologize for the experience you have had as one of our valued employees. I would like to personally invite you to speak with me about the unacceptable experiences you have described.
At the outset, I would like to say that the leadership of The Chicago Lighthouse holds itself to the highest ethical and business standards. If you or any other employee experience or witness unethical or improper behavior, they should immediately approach a trusted manager, our human resources professionals, including myself as Chief Human Resources Officer, or our Chief Compliance Officer immediately and without fear of recrimination.
Retaliation of any kind is not tolerated, and anyone found to have engaged in such conduct will be disciplined up to and including termination regardless of level within the organization!
The leadership of The Chicago Lighthouse places a high priority on ensuring that we have a healthy, productive, and fulfilling work environment for all our employees and are invested in working with our staff to ensure any concerns or issues are addressed to create a positive work environment. To that end, we have recently launched several new initiatives, including a commitment to stronger employee engagement, transparency in our hiring, promotion and evaluation procedures, and a wholesale review of our compensation and benefit packages to ensure competitiveness and fairness both within the organization and among our competitors. We are also implementing a new learning management system that will allow employees greater opportunities for learning and professional development.
No employee of The Chicago Lighthouse should ever experience a negative work environment. However, if they do, they should immediately contact Human Resources, including me directly, to bring the issues to our attention. This is the only way that we can ensure unacceptable behavior is identified and addressed!
Anonymous Employee, I again invite you to contact me so that I can address your concerns.
For anyone reading this post who is considering working at The Chicago Lighthouse, I would like to say that the unacceptable behavior experienced by Anonymous Employee is not tolerated here and will be immediately investigated and addressed. The leadership at the Lighthouse, from our CEO to every one of our managers, are strongly committed to having an inclusive, welcoming, and fulfilling workplace serving our mission communities – the blind, visually impaired, disabled, and Veterans. It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words so please see some from our recent Lighthouse Palooza, where we celebrated our amazing staff! https://photos.app.goo.gl/a7CaXb3XdYTozHSe7
