After spending 2 weeks of "training" in a classroom, you get to graduate and become an O.J.T ( On job trainee) for your first week, after that your all on your own buddy. During class if you pay attention you will realize that there is a lot of contradiction coming from the instructors, etc.. first they will tell you that respect is everything, how bad retaliation is, flirting with the offenders is not allowed, they will tell you all about treating the offenders the same and to give them no more no less etc... all that bull that you're being taught in class is just as bad as going to a baptist church, not that i have anything against any religion I'm just saying people just stand up there to preach you but they don't always believe in their own words. On my first day during the brief the LT verbally welcomes all the new O.J.T's and and says " out here is different than being in the classroom, your going to see us doing things differently than what you were told to do so during class." i think what he was saying was " everything you learned in class, toss it out the window" he wasn't lying because i notice there was no respect among staff members, SGT were telling their c/o's to shove any complains up their rectum, case managers were very disrespectful towards c/o's just because they were following procedures like not accessing more than one door at one time. nurses are not allowed to go in the pods by themselves unless a c/o is with them all times, well they don't follow the rules, and wonder why they get raped. some offenders didn't get a right meal proportion some got nothing but mayo packets and 3 pieces of bread that's just not fair, i don't care what they have done to be there but i think they should still be treated like human beings. anyways i seen female co's and case managers flirting with the offenders all the time W.T.F? That's just nasty just saying!! some workers did not get adequately searched before entering the facility just because "oh they're clean they been working here for years and they're background is military" really? and you wonder why there's so much contraband inside. No breaks for co's but still taken out of your check so enjoy that. Offenders will respect those who respect them, be more aware of the people you work with, remember the devil has many faces.
