Pros
Ability to create a center that reflects the experience, talents & individual creativity of your leaders & staff! Parents were impressed with the progressive curriculum, which included a comprehensive literacy program allowing for young children to be beyond ready for language arts when entering Kindergarten. Children were wide-eyed & extremely hesitant to leave once the tours were over due to the many extra curricular activities that are included with their tuition. The smaller size makes for an intimate, family-like experience.
Cons
When given the opportunity to make your center a reflection of yourself/team & your excitement to make it a magical place for all involved... You must stop & take time for yourself. Obviously, a pro that can become a con if you don’t personally realize that when you’re a perfectionist... there will always be something to do! So, just remember... it takes time to build your unique center. Great leaders & teachers are constantly working to improve their practices! My advice... take your time up front to understand the curriculum & always ask questions if there is something you need confirmed.
