Pros

Alot to learn,

Cons

You make sacrifices, which go unrewarded. They make you follow this program, and swear up and down that the program works, no exceptions, the program works, your not allowed to mess with this script at all. I'm not saying it hasn't worked in the past but , literally this program does not universally work. I spent hundreds of hours making cold calls for this company, going exactly off their script, and when meetings were scheduled I went exactly off of their script. The "leaders" aren't very helpful, they'll just sit there and tell you your wrong over and over, if your not selling the overpriced advertisement, they just up and figure that it's all your fault. Going into this gig I was superiorly optimistic, until I came back down to earth and realized this is major bs... The higher ups at N2 publishing are brilliant (I'm talking C status) they know exactly how to play you out, get you to be very excited over this. The company flaunts money at you 24/7 with all of their media and radio stations they are ALLLLLLWAAAAYYYYSSSS talking about how much money their staff makes. I finally had to quit, I make 8,000-12,000 a month on my own terms. It was soooooo depressing going through with this, and I learned a big lesson, ALL advertisement is gimmicky. And when I would make hundreds of cold calls a day, I'd run into people who were already in the magazine, and literally every time I talked to someone who was already paying for N2 publishing advertising had nothing good to say about it and they all wanted out.

Pros

The Area Director role offers an incredibly rewarding blend of purpose, flexibility, and growth. One of the biggest advantages is the opportunity to do meaningful, community-driven work by building real relationships with neighbors and local business owners. The role is highly entrepreneurial, allowing you to run your market like your own business while still receiving strong support, training, and guidance from leadership. There is also significant long-term earning potential as the publication grows, along with creative fulfillment through storytelling, content development, and events. The flexibility of the schedule and the ability to see the direct impact of your work within your own community make the position especially satisfying.

Cons

Like any role, there are challenges, particularly during the initial ramp-up period. The first few months require patience, self-motivation, and the willingness to wear multiple hats, from relationship-building and sales to content planning and event coordination. However, these challenges often become strengths over time, as consistency and effort lead to momentum, stability, and confidence. For individuals who enjoy connecting with others, value autonomy, and want to build something meaningful with long-term potential, the positives of the Area Director role far outweigh the challenges.
