Pros

Looks good on LinkedIn to be part of an IPO’d company.

Cons

Sales Department is not given work laptops to work from home during the Coronavirus outbreak. We are hourly employees, and do not have any other option than to commute via public transportation and expose ourselves to contracting the virus.

Thank you for raising your concern. As you’ve been hearing from us, we take your health and safety very seriously. In addition to adding extra cleaning services in all our office locations, we have been working very hard to secure laptops for the entire Inside Sales and BDR teams across the country. As you can imagine, resources are limited due to other organizations trying to accomplish the same thing. Our IT team is working hard to have equipment set up as soon as possible. As shared in prior communications, if you do not feel comfortable at this time traveling into the office, please work with your manager or HR to make alternate arrangements. We want you to know that your health and safety is our priority which is why we are committed to taking measures to create a safe place to work.

Pros

Pay and commission can be good, but the structure is unnecessarily convoluted and not as generous as it seems, and you will have no work/life balance if you want to actually make consistently high commission. If you have a true passion for luxury and fashion, you do get a lot of opportunities to handle and interact with special/rare items, and depending on store location you can meet a lot of interesting industry people and celebrities, especially during Fashion Weeks

Cons

Poor and unsupportive management with extremely unrealistic demands and expectations; you will get virtually no training, but are immediately expected to know how to do everything. The overall company culture is just unpleasant and very cliquey, and there's constant employee turnover. The online customer service system is terrible, so you will frequently have to handle customer issues that have nothing to do with you/your sales.
