Pros

Fellow employees were all gems, stock options, company atmosphere felt positive.

Cons

The only way to really do well is to spend 8 hours in your car driving around picking up your consignors items. Infrastructure is severely lacking, and consignors will harass you nonstop over things you have no control over. You’re definitely going to be working 10+ hours a day, 7 days a week if you want to make your quota and get your commission. Underpaid and overworked. Managers know this, every few months they’ll appease you with a meeting where they swear things will change but they never do. Consignors can be absolutely horrendous and cruel. Very little opportunity for upward mobility, unless you leave the department.

Pros

-Remote -Great coworkers -Flexibility -Monthly opportunities to earn additional funds from contests

Cons

-CONSTANT company wide and departmental changes (workflow, leadership, structure, SOPs, tech, systems, CRM operations, expectations, etc.) New SOPs are very often implemented without being fully fleshed out or thoroughly tested. Just about every month there’s some new standard or expectation being implemented and leadership expects everyone to be extremely positive about it and 100% flexible. Criticism and feedback can feel like walking on eggshells with senior leadership. -Pay is extremely low compared to industry standards. With the constant adjustments and flexibility required from bdr’s, the low pay can make the work feel completely unsustainable and draining- which explains the high turnover. Most people stay in the role for a year or two before moving on or getting let go due to performance.
