The Scripps Research Institute

Engaged Employer

HR manager needs to get facts straight. She picks favorites and has not experience dealing with difficult situations. - Administrative Assistant The Scripps Research Institute Employee Review

Pros

If you are lucky enough you will work for some wonderful faculty members. If you are not, management does not back you when a faculty member treat you like dirt (to put it mildly) because they think they are better than you.

Cons

Management does not back you when you are placed in difficult situations even though they have promised you that they will. Even though they tell you to keep a "Cover your As_" file on the faculty member you are made to work for. Especially when they know that a certain faculty member has been a problem for years. Basically the HR Manager will stab you in the back if you are not on her "favorites" list. The company will make you give up a faculty member you are working for and make you work for other ones even though you have a great rapport and working relationship with the faculty members you have been working for for years. Don't get comfortable working for your faculty members. It can change at a moments notice!!
